Costume Design

Costuming is how I got my foot in the door with theatre and will always have a special place in my heart. I love working with different materials, colors, and patterns to create a three dimensional piece of art that is also functional. Costumes can make or break a performance because they enhance the character aesthetic and provide inside into their personality. I love telling stories, and costumes are a part of the story that never says a word.

Lighting Design

Lighting is such a crucial part of theatre because without it the audience can't see whats going on. There is so much more that goes into lighting a performance than people realize and gaining an understanding of how it works through classes has allowed me to feel more confident in my work around lighting. Even if its just knowing how to work the light board during rehearsals.

Set Design

I have not yet had the opportunity to set design for a show but I enjoy playing around with what is possible. I'm a strong believer that the more versatile your skill set is within theatre, the better you are at creating theatre. I have taken classes that encompass set design as part of my degree path and have picked up some useful tools along the way such as digital 3D renderings of potential sets. The two sets shown here are one's I've created for acts 2 & 3 of The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde
